This weekend, our Urban Zen Integrative Therapy (UZIT) students are in session tackling the clinical component of their training, an essential, hands-on part of the UZIT curriculum. It’s an opportune time for students to try out their newly acquired integrative healthcare skills through simulated scenarios that they will encounter once they take their training out into the world-at-large.
It’s also a time for students to explore the abundant need of their offerings. As Donna always says, “At one point or another, each and every one of us will be a patient or a loved one.” We will all experience illness in our lives, and we will all benefit from true, integrative care. This is why our UZIT students are required to complete 100 hours of clinical rotations in a variety of hospital and medical environments. One such environment is the American Cancer Society’sHope Lodge, an Urban Zen partner. On Friday, a Hope Lodge representative came to talk about the opportunity available to UZITs at this amazing facility. During the presentation, an inspired video was shared. We were struck by the message and we thought you would be too.
We hope you enjoy the video and, for exclusive, real-time updates of the UZIT clinical component training weekend, follow us on Twitter!
