January 16 was Urban Zen Day at the San Francisco Yoga Journal Conference.  Rodney Yee, Colleen Saidman Yee and Jamie Naughright introduced 35 students to the Urban Zen Integrative Therapy program.

The audience was made up of yoga practitioners, physicians and allied healthcare providers. Covered was the treatment of symptoms that the UZIT curriculum focuses on; pain, anxiety, nausea, insomnia, constipation, confusion and fatigue (PANIC). Yoga masters Richard Freeman and Richard Rosen assisted in teaching breath work. In-bed movements (asana), breath awareness (pranayama), restorative poses and meditation.  Special guest presenter, Tracey Griffiths of Young Living Essential Oils (a UZIT sponsor), introduced the benefits of aromatherapy in treating PANIC symptoms and enhancing health. Students experienced the scents and applications of the purest essential oils available. A portion of the net proceeds have been donated to the Albert Yee Scholarship Fund.
