Clinton2 Health Matters: Addressing Healthcare at the Clinton Foundations Inaugural Health ConferenceWe started in LA to celebrate Sean Penn and his work in Haiti with J/P HRO and then had the opportunity to move on to another one of my great passions – healthcare. On Tuesday, we were off to participate in the Clinton Foundation’s inaugural health conference called, “Health Matters: Activating Wellness in Every Generation,” which brought together more than 200 professionals in the health care industry, public policy, business, education and individual wellness. I found myself, once again, in the presence of so many inspiring visionaries. Not only Bill Clinton, but also Dr. Mark Hyman, and the brilliant Chelsea Clinton who spoke so beautifully about education and healthcare. I attended the conference with my girlfriend Barbra Streisand whose passion and endless support for Women’s heart health never ceases to amaze me.

One of my biggest passions will always be ensuring that care really is the most important part of healthcare. Because of this, I was so encourage by the message of the conference, which stressed how important it is for each and everyone us to take responsibility for our health care. We need to be conscious of what we’re teaching out children, about what we concepts we propel forward in our education systems, and we must embrace the mind, body and spirit connection. My friend Goldie Hawn spoke beautifully about this during the conference when she discussed her foundation’s MindUP program which weaves mindfulness into curriculums – a concept that I believe is the most important foundation for all education.

After having just come back from Haiti, where our Urban Zen Integrative Therapists are working at St. Damien’s hospital, I couldn’t help by think about how truly caring for others is a universal language that brings people together. This is what my time in LA has really been about… people coming together, focusing on what really matters and committing to making a difference.
