J/P Haitian Relief Organization
J/P Haitian Relief Organization is dedicated to saving lives and bringing sustainable programs to the Haitian people quickly and effectively. Following the tragic earthquake of 2010 J/P HRO began working immediately to make an impact in Haiti. J/P HRO works with both government and non-governmental agencies to deliver immediate results where the need is greatest. Efforts include but are not limited to providing emergency medical and primary care services, delivering badly needed medical equipment and medicine, distributing food and water purification systems, improving communication systems, and developing housing and education facilities. The goal of J/P Haitian Relief Organization is to help lift the nation of Haiti out of the rubble and give the Haitian people a better life.
The Stiller Foundation
Acclaimed actor, writer, director and producer Ben Stiller founded The Stiller Foundation based on his core belief that all children deserve the opportunity to reach their full potential. The Foundation’s primary mission is to promote the education and well being of children worldwide through initiatives that develop and support high-quality schools.
Inspired by his first visit to Haiti in 2009, Ben began a unique fundraising campaign, “Stillerstrong”, which raised more than $300,000 to support the Save the Children School in Cévérine, Haiti. When the January 2010 earthquake hit, Ben expanded his commitment to Haiti with a broader effort to rebuild schools for children affected by the catastrophe. He launched the “Haitian School Initiative” in partnership with Architecture for Humanity – a non-profit organization that brings design, construction and development services to communities in need. The Stiller Foundation and Architecture for Humanity are currently rebuilding four badly damaged schools in the Port-Au-Prince area. Other temporary-to-permanent structures have been erected as of the 2010 fall term, allowing hundreds of children to return to a safe learning space.

The Truth Exhibition
A group art exhibit and auction curated by renowned fashion photographer Marc Baptiste for Hope Help and Relief Haiti, The Truth strives to capture the whole story of Haiti and was born of Marc’s vision to share the message of his country’s rich culture. The exhibition is a diverse collection of works by Haitian, Haitian American and Haitian inspired artists. A total of 22+ contributing artists are presenting works to be auctioned to support Hope Help and Relief Haiti’s mission. The art includes photographic images from before and after the earthquake, fine art photography, paintings, masks and a slideshow presentation, short films, interviews and footage of Haiti. This is a celebration of people helping people, hope, courage, commitment, dignity and the truth of survival.
The proceeds from any sales of The Truth artwork will go to the pre-designated beneficiaries of the cultural exhibition.
Million Hearts for Haiti
Buy a heart for Haiti, and generate a donation to the HAND/EYE Fund’s artisan grants program supporting Haiti artisans in their struggle to rebuild their lives and businesses in the aftermath of the January 2011 earthquake. Hand-carved river stone hearts from the village of Cormier, located in a rural zone just east of Port au Prince, represent the best link between Haitian artisans and the distant markets they must reach to earn a living. HAND/EYE Fund, through its Austin, Texas importing partner, Tesoros Trading Co., offers employment to the carvers by buying the hearts from them.
For one night only, the sale of the hearts will be split between J/P Haitian Relief Organization and The Stiller Foundation, with a portion of the proceeds going to the HAND/EYE Fund.
For the continuation of the Million Hearts for Haiti campaign, the proceeds will go to the HAND/EYE Fund’s artisan grants program in Haiti – which offers small cash grants to artists and artisans who need to rebuild houses and workshops, replenish tools and raw materials, and gain access to design input from the markets in which they are trying to sell. The HAND/EYE Fund supports skilled artisans in their struggle to earn decent livelihoods through preservation of ancient traditions, innovation of new ones, exploration of new markets, and educating the consuming public about the cultural and economic importance of their work.
Hope Help & Relief Haiti
Hope, Help & Relief Haiti (HHRH) was created by Donna Karan and her Urban Zen Foundation, music executive Andre Harrell, the Mary J. Blige and Steve Stoute Foundation for the Advancement of Women Now, and Andre Balazs and The Standard as an initiative aimed at galvanizing a community in response to Haiti’s immediate need to rebuild. HHRH’s mission is to create a conscious community of leaders in music, fashion, film, finance and art to become agents of change for the renewal of Haiti. The initiative launched in February 2010 with a “Night of Humanity,” a fundraising event at the Urban Zen Center.
Magnum Photos
The world’s most prestigious photographic agency, Magnum Photos was formed in 1947 by four photographers – Robert Capa, Henri Cartier-Bresson, George Rodger and David “Chim” Seymour – created to reflect their independent natures as both people and photographers – The idiosyncratic mix of reporter and artist that continues to define Magnum, emphasizes not only what is seen but also the way one sees it.
Magnum Photos is a photographic co-operative of great diversity and distinction still owned by its photographer-members. Magnum has 50 member photographers. With estates, archives and correspondents Magnum Photos represents the work of over 100 photographers worldwide through its offices in New York, London, Paris and Tokyo.
Magnum has throughout its 63-year history established the standard of excellence for deeper, weightier ideas that connect on the human level in profound ways. Historically, photographers associated with Magnum Photos Inc. have collaborated with many non-profit organizations, including UNICEF, Amnesty International, Médecins Sans Frontières and Human Rights Watch, in their efforts to raise public awareness of social, political and humanitarian issues.
The Magnum Photos photographic archive reflects all aspects of life throughout the world and the unparalleled sense of vision, imagination and brilliance of the greatest collective of documentary photographers.
In short, when you picture an iconic image, but the name of the photographer and its origin eludes you, chances are it probably came from Magnum.
